Thank you both for the kind words, and the respectful reasoned discussion here. If I may gently prod at something though - and in the spirit of the piece itself - the 'crossed state lines' thing is seemingly part of one of those narratives I keep banging on about that is merely 'incriminating' (but false) innuendo being thrown about (a lot). Along with the fact the gun was stored in Kenosha, and he was already in the area (his father and grandparents live there and he had a shift as lifeguard that day) he didn't cross any state lines to be at the riot - nor when he had traveled was he carrying the (legally owned and stored, and carried) gun at the time. But it helps make the kid into a bad guy, which suits one side. It also implies federal laws were broken somehow. If this was the big deal CNN and MSNBC made it out to be, why were none of the charges related to this point?
