"Americans are rightfully frustrated and are desperate to end the endless war" - but 'we' can't just 'decide' it's over. We didn't start it. It isn't over. All that's happened is we've ceded a dominant and hard won position militarily, and strengthened and encouraged our sworn enemies while doing so. This is a total disaster and will ultimately just be regarded by history as a huge self-served setback in a brutal global war that will almost certainly outlast most of the people reading this. Unless it gets as bad as it could, in which case we're all toast.
